A lot of people think that, in order to stay healthy, you have to follow these strict eating habits and serious food guidelines in order to keep from getting out of shape. But actually, there is a lot to be said for simply avoiding the bad foods. Foods that are high in sugar and low in nutritional value might seem like no-brainer bad food, but many people don’t watch how much they eat of foods like this. So, here are a few tips that will keep you from eating so much bad food, which will, in turn, help you to choose better foods in the long run.
First, only indulge in junk food twice a week. Many people eat WAY more junk food than that, and if you can keep it down to about twice per week, you will notice a huge difference in how you feel. Actually, you will probably even enjoy these foods better if you cut down on them a little bit. So, instead of eating cake and cookies every day, save these sweets for more special occasions and choose and apple or a banana instead.
Only drink three sodas per week. This is a LOT less soda than the average person drinks anyway, but then you can work it down to twice a week, then to once, than you can totally do away with it. You will be amazed at how much better you feel once you stop drinking soda, and you will also be amazed at how much less you will spend! Opt instead to drink things like iced tea, vitamin water, regular water, or even juice.
And finally, cut habits like smoking and chewing tobacco. These will only drag your health down, and you do not need that. Instead, take some beef jerky along with you and chew on that. Or, eat granola bars whenever you get a smoking craving. Maybe a cereal bar of your favorite flavor will make a cigarette sound less desirable.
